Mint Lemonade is a delicious and refreshing drink for a hot day. It’s super quick to make and tastes delicious. You can make it to order or make a big batch ahead of time for a large group – or for sipping throughout the day. The beautiful mint flavor will get stronger as it sits in the lemonade.

This is my all-time favorite “fancy” drink that everyone can enjoy, kids and grown-ups alike. It’s just so easy and so delicious that you absolutely have to give it a try. On a hot day, it is the most refreshing drink ever.
I have always been a big fan of lemonade, and I drank way too much powdered lemonade mixes as a kid. Those were full of sugar and had that flat, artificial taste.
Now, I have a much better, much simpler, and much healthier alternative for you.
It doesn’t take a lot of sweetener to make lemonade made from fresh lemon juice sweet enough. In this recipe, I use just ⅛ of a teaspoon of liquid stevia per cup of lemonade. That’s all.
And the mint? Well, that was something I learned about when I visited Jerusalem in my late 20s. I had no idea people did that, and I totally fell in love with it. Of all the amazing food I ate during my stay there, the mint lemonade was the one that secured a permanent place in my heart.
I have seen recipes for a drink called “limonata” from the Middle East which blends mint leaves with lemonade and results in a fantastic-looking granita type drink. It looks amazing, but it’s just a different drink.
My recipe here is how I had Mint Lemonade in Jerusalem, and this is my favorite. It’s so simple to make and quick. You don’t need any equipment if you squeeze the lemons by hand. I love the subtle flavor of the mint leaves when they’re just submerged instead of crushed or blended. It actually reminds me of a caipirinha which was hands-down my favorite alcoholic drink back when I thought I could drink alcohol and eat sugar.

That’s another reason why I love this Mint Lemonade. I can’t drink alcohol. Neither can my husband. When I tell people that I have a really bad reaction to alcohol, they joke that they do, too – it’s called a hangover. Har, har, har.
But, seriously, I can’t feel my hands after I drink alcohol. I think that’s a pretty clear sign that it’s not healthy for my body.
I don’t miss alcohol at all, but it’s fun to drink something special. And this Sugar Free Mint Lemonade totally fits the bill. Especially if you serve it in a real glass with the ice cubes tinkling against the glass and you can see the mint leaves mixed with the ice cubes. It’s beautiful.
It’s nice to have a “fancy” drink that kids and grown-ups can enjoy together, too. I would drink this Sugar Free Mint Lemonade any chance I could, but it would be perfect for a summer garden party or cook-out. Or just for an afternoon readding a good book in the sun. Any occasion, really.

How to Make Sugar Free Mint Lemonade From Scratch
This recipe is so easy to make that you can make it to order for yourself or to impress your friends and family.
Make sure that you use only freshly squeezed lemon juice. Nothing from the bottle. Squeeze the lemons. You can do this either by hand (it’s not a huge amount) or with a lemon squeezer.
Pour the lemon juice into the water. Add the liquid stevia and stir until combined, just a few twirls.
Fill the glasses you’re going to serve in halfway with ice cubes. Pour the lemonade over the ice cubes.
Gently tear the fresh mint leaves off of their stems. Add the fresh mint leaves to each glass and gently submerge them in the lemonade.
